Led by an owner with over 40 years experience in the body and paint industry…

I began working as a general laborer in a small auto body shop that grew to be a large, well-known body shop. Over the many years I spent there I was able to apprentice under some highly talented individuals where I perfected the trade, specializing in the paint process.

In the mid 90’s my wife and I purchased our first RV. We took it in for service and, to make a long story short, I wound up working for that shop full time. It turned into a career that I truly loved and was passionate about. I learned the ins and outs of recreational vehicles and trailers, and the different repair processes.

Like many others I had long dreamed of owning my own business; in 2005 I turned that dream into reality and opened my own RV and trailer repair business, known today as American RV Repair.

We are a small, family-owned business. My wife and I married in 1978; we have two daughters (both work at American RV) and three grandchildren. Throughout our marriage and the early part of my career as a business owner, my wife worked in law offices as a legal assistant. In 2010 we moved our shop from Ridgefield to Orchards, and with that move my wife left the legal field and came to work with me full time. Since then we’ve truly been a family business. We find ourselves busier every year with many repeat customers we regard as friends. They’ve sent their friends and family to us, which is the best compliment we could receive.

What awesome service! I went in to have the electric step to our RV repaired or replaced last week. First Terry tried to lubricate the mechanisms but the step remained stuck in the out position. So he said he would take it into the shop and have it disassembled to determine what parts were needed. About 1/2 hour later he called and reported they took it apart, cleaned and lubed it and it works great. And to top it all off, when I picked it up, there was no charge. Thanks you American RV Repair for saving our trip for us.

American RV is great. They got me in right away. I was having electrical/battery problems with my camper van. John was the best! As he went through the process he filled me in on how things work and what to do to prevent problems in the future. He went the “extra step” and checked the inverter charge settings, which turned out to be in the wrong position. I now know the proper maintenance procedures and equipment to best take care of my batteries. Terry and his crew are wonderful. Good advice and good pricing. I will go back to American RV again and again!

This company, with Terry & Debbie (in charge) is the most competent & ethical service, with very fair pricing. I always received amazing work, for all 3 of my RV’s challenging problems. From a total rehab to winterizing & noticing leaks, with their very thorough inspection; we could not be more satisfied. The best service experience in this area, both in the creative service shop & office. Many thanks to both Terry, Debbie & service crew….

Love this company! Terry and his team are the best. Honest, reliable, careful. They don’t offer to do work they can’t handle, but so far they’ve handled everything. They don’t overcharge and they give good sensible advice. Friendly, capable, reliable. What more could one want?
